Mindfulness Yoga: for body, mind and spirit

Each class will include active yoga postures, passive yoga postures and a sitting meditation. Mindfulness in each of these builds greater calmness and self-confidence, strengthening the mind-body connection. All levels are welcome, including beginners. Props, modifications and alternate poses will be demonstrated. See details.

Mindfulness Practices for Stress Reduction: Change your response to stress

This program focuses on tools and training to reduce one’s reactivity to stressful situations. A combination of gentle yoga, sitting meditation and awareness practices promote relaxation, calming the body’s fight-or-flight response. Inspired by the successful Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, these five classes introduce a variety of stress reduction tools so participants can experience what works for them. With practice, these new habits of mindfulness allow one to respond to stressful circumstances more skillfully.
