About the event

Join us to celebrate the longest day of light and the shortest night of darkness on the Summer Solstice. The Summer Solstice is one of two days of the solar/lunar year (the other is the Winter Solstice) when there is a figurative “standing still” or “still point” as the word “solstice” has been interpreted to mean.

The solstice is a time to reflect on where you’ve been for the last 6 months and how you are choosing to move forward. We will start indoors with a mind map exercise to set our personal intentions and aspirations for the next 6 months until the Winter Solstice. Then we will move outdoors and bring the clarity of our intentions into a guided contemplation on the 5 elements - how they underlie everything in nature and are reflected in the energies of lives. We will draw upon the elements to help us bring our intentions to fruition. Finally, we will walk the 70-foot, 7-circuit labyrinth - contemplatively, with soundscapes of crystal bowls. At the center, we will gather for a ceremony of gentle movement (accessible, modified sun salutations) in the four directions. After the formal program, all are welcome to stay to watch the sunset at the pond.

This celebration is inclusive and welcoming to all.
